Boys & Girls Club of Wareham offers free dance classes

Feb 8, 2011

Wareham resident Christina Piscitell will teach Dance Around the World and Through the Ages, a free instructional dance program, at the Wareham Unit of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford.

The classes are open to all students ages 7 to 13. Students do not need to be a member of the Club to participate. Each class will be limited to 30 students on a first come first served basis.

“This will definitely be a very fun experience for students and their friends. There will be dances to learn, moves to create, fun games, and lots of good times,” said Piscitell, who was excited about bringing the program to the Boys & Girls Club.

Classes are divided by age group: On Mondays, February 28, March 7, and March 14 from 4-5 p.m., the class will be for boys and girls ages 11-13. On Tuesdays, March 1, 8, and 15 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., the class will be for boys and girls ages 7-10.

Students must be able to attend all 3 classes. A certificate will be presented at the end of each program. To sign up or for more information about the class or teacher, call 508-295-5480.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Wareham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

A Boys & Girls Club Dance will also be held Friday, February 11, 6 to 8:45 p.m., for students in grades 4 to 6. Admission is $5.00.
