Officials from Wareham's Department of Natural Resources are hoping someone can help a rascally rabbit make its way home.

"The Easter Bunny came early on Old Onset Road," department representatives wrote on Facebook on Wednesday morning. "He was seen running down the road, and decided to hitch a ride with a visiting nurse."

The writer clarified: "Yes he hopped into the back seat of a vehicle. He brought no candy so we are pretty upset."

The critter was found in the area of Aunt Hannah's Lane and Old Onset Road, located off of Onset Avenue.

Though they are a bit disappointed at the lack of sweets provided, officials are hoping they can return the rabbit to its owner. If it's yours or you know who it belongs to, give the department a call 508-291-3100, ext. 3183. Officials will require proof of ownership.
