Helen Eaton Ferretti, 82, of Onset died Nov. 18 at Falmouth Hospital. She was the wife of Lewis C. Ferretti.

Born in Amityville, New York, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. Eaton, a Mayflower descendant, and Dorothy (Heafy) Eaton. A longtime resident of High Point, North Carolina, she moved to Onset in 2001. Mrs. Ferretti was a very active community volunteer and greatly enjoyed organizing family gatherings. She worked tirelessly to ensure a tight-knit family through four living generations and succeeded magnificently. Her love for her family was apparent to all who knew her. She also greatly enjoyed traveling throughout the world with her husband.

Mrs. Ferretti was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, North Carolina, a past president of St. Edward’s Guild and was a founder of the parish funeral committee. She was also a member of the wedding committee. Mrs. Ferretti was a longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels and served as a tutor at Christ the King school in High Point, North Carolina. After moving to Onset, she became a member of St. Margaret & St. Mary Catholic Church in Buzzards Bay. Mrs. Ferretti was a devout Catholic all her life.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lewis C. Ferretti; four sons, Lewis C. Ferretti, Jr. of Jamestown, North Carolina, Kevin J. Ferretti of Kennesaw, Georgia, Peter J. Ferretti of Monroe, Georgia, and Joseph M. Ferretti of Huntington Beach, California; two brothers, John Eaton of Cotuit and Robert Eaton of Buzzards Bay; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Onset Avenue, Onset at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
