Current School Committee Chair Judy Caporiccio has pulled nomination papers for her seat on the Wareham School Committee in the upcoming April 3 town election.

Caporiccio has 36 years of experience as an educator, including work as a reading teacher, a special education teacher, and a department head, in Somerset and Westwood. She moved to the Swifts Beach neighborhood in 2014 after many years as a summer resident here.

She was first elected to the School Committee in 2015. Candidates have until Feb. 13 at 5 p.m. to return nomination papers with the signatures of 50 registered voters to the Town Clerk’s office.

The race for School Committee has two open seats, both for three-year terms. Incumbent Geoff Swett has pulled papers, as have Rebekah Pratt, Rebecca Kennen and Michael Flaherty. As of Jan. 24, Flaherty has returned his nomination papers making his candidacy official.
