Selectmen welcomed the board’s newest member, Mary Bruce, and elected a new chair, Alan Slavin, Tuesday at their first meeting since the April 3 election.

Previous Chair Peter Teitelbaum described the position as being “first among equals,” and said he was glad to have served for the past year.

“It’s been a great pleasure to work on behalf of the town with these people up here,” said Teitelbaum.

He added that it’s customary for the board to reorganize following the annual election.

“This is probably a good thing,” said Teitelbaum. “That way different viewpoints come to the fore.”

Board members unanimously elected Slavin as chair. Selectman Patrick Tropeano was unanimously voted in as clerk.
