Wareham Police announce traffic restrictions for Onset Fireworks

Wareham Police have announced several traffic restrictions which will take place on Saturday, July 7 in conjunction with the Onset Fireworks.

The show is set to start at 8:45 p.m. on Onset Beach, and officials say drivers should expect delays when leaving the area after the event at 9:30 p.m.

There will be no parking on Union Avenue from Onset Avenue to C.W. Bishop Avenue all day.

Onset Pier will close at 5 p.m. and is for handicap parking only.

Onset Avenue will close at 7 p.m. from 10th Street to East Boulevard. Only residents with proof of ID or a handicap placard will be allowed through.

At 8 p.m. Onset Center will shut down to all traffic.

Those attending the fireworks are reminded by the Wareham Police Department that the public consumption of alcohol and marijuana are against the law and will not be tolerated.
