Wareham Police announce two promotions, one retirement
Wareham Police announced one retirement and two promotions on Thursday. Sgt. Christopher J. Park has retired after 25 years of service with the department.
Following Park’s retirement, Det. Kevin Reilly has been promoted to sergeant and is assigned to the patrol division. Sgt. Peter Flannery has been promoted to lieutenant and is assigned to the patrol division.
Another officer, Garrett Smith, transferred to the Wareham Police Department from the Attleboro Police Department and is currently assigned with a field training officer.
“The Wareham Police Department’s biggest strength is its people. The officers promoted are true professionals in every sense of the word,” said Wareham Acting Police Chief John Walcek. “These promotions were needed to ensure the smooth running of our police department and I thank Derek Sullivan and the Board of Selectmen for the support they have shown our agency.”
