David Heard launches write-in campaign for assessor

Mar 31, 2019

David Heard, a current member of the Finance Committee, Capital Planning Committee, and the School Building Committee, is launching a write-in campaign for assessor.

No one pulled papers for the three year position.

In a statement posted to Facebook, Heard wrote that he has experience that makes him well-suited to the board. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in business and more than 40 years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of industrial projects.

Heard is a registered professional engineer and has passed the exams for real estate sales and the construction supervision.

Heard said that his community involvement began with a stint on the Plymouth Zoning Board of Appeals in the 1980s and service on the Jordan Hospital Board of Directors from 1981 to 1999, during which time the hospital underwent two major building expansion projects.

The town election is on April 2.
