William T. Knapp, Jr., 77
WAREHAM – William T. Knapp, Jr., 77, of West Wareham passed away at home on June 14, 2024. He was the husband of the late Margo L. (Hess) Knapp and the son of the late William and Bernice (Reeves) Knapp.
He was born in New York, New York and grew up in Missouri before moving to Wareham. He graduated from De La Salle High School and he then graduated from college with an engineering degree.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.
Mr. Knapp worked as a Nuclear Engineer for Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station for several years before retiring.
He enjoyed playing football in his younger years and he also enjoyed studying history, riding his motorcycle and visiting Vermont frequently.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Janice Lynn of Baltimore, MD; his stepson, Stuart Gitomer and his wife, Marie of Nanticoke, PA; a grandson, Jonathon Gitomer; a great granddaughter, Jocelyn Gitomer. He was predeceased by his stepson, Leslie Gitomer.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne. Please arrive at the cemetery by 12:15 p.m.
