BOURNE – John A. Evans, 59, of Bourne, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, at a hospice facility in Milton after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Clifton and Sheila (Faux) Evans.

He was born in Wareham and grew up in Onset, later moving to Bourne. He graduated from Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.

John was known for working at Nick’s Pizza in Buzzards Bay for many years before switching careers to become a cable lineman, working at RW Bryant for many years. John later became disabled in 2016 after surviving an electrocution.

John loved spending time with his children and family, his children were his pride and joy. He loved anything to do with the water; fishing, boating, shell fishing or just watching the sunset. He was most known for his quick wit and humor, his contagious laugh and smile and always willing to give a helping hand. John was the type of person with the inability to sit still. He also enjoyed yard work, projects, cooking, cleaning, fast cars and living life to the absolute fullest; on his terms.

He is Survived by his daughter, Liberty L. Evans and her significant other Phillip M. Frye, of Buzzards Bay; a son, Tyler Evans of Bourne; and Stepchildren, Kosta Tsonis of Buzzards Bay, Ashley Pratt of Bourne, a grandson Nikko Tsonis of Wareham and a granddaughter on the way; his siblings include, Susan Roden of Farmington, NH, Sandra Russell of Centerville, David & Cheryl Evans of Onset, Robert Evans of Bourne and Julie Latini of Plymouth; along with many nephews and nieces. John is predeceased in his death by step son, John Tsonis of Buzzards Bay.

Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Center Cemetery, Wareham.
