Acorns to Oaks Foundation, formerly the Decas Community Center Foundation, is still seeking sponsors for its second annual Back-to-School Clothing Drive.

Jody Santagate, the foundation’s president, said there are currently 100 families signed up and only 30 sponsors.

Santagate said the foundation found itself in a similar situation last year, but the community was able to pull through and support 140 families.

She added this year the foundation’s goal is 150.

The drive is in partnership with Walt’s Mobile Closet and will take place on August 19 at the Gleason Family YMCA. 

Those interested in sponsoring a child for the clothing drive should complete the sponsor form by July 22 at https://tinyurl.com/acornsback2school.

Sponsors are asked to provide one to two outfits and a pair of shoes for the child.

Wareham parents in need of Back-to-School help for their child should register by July 22 at https://tinyurl.com/back2schoolhelp.

The child’s and family’s identity will be anonymous.
