DECA students show off their skills in the peach state
Wareham High School’s DECA chapter attended the 2026 DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.
DECA is an international non-profit organization dedicated to teaching kids about business, marketing, finance and more as well as giving them the skills they need to prepare as future entrepreneurs. Each year DECA hosts competitions at district, state and international levels for kids to demonstrate the skills they have learned.
Ten Wareham High School students attended the conference, including four students who competed in DECA events. Savannah Varden and Siya Patel competed in School-Based Enterprise Retail Operations, while Adriana Raymond and Priscilla Ross competed in School-Based Enterprise Food Operations.
Six additional students — Kailee Rose, Sienna Cabe, Samantha Baptiste, Mark Deyoe, Donovan Leonardi and Caleb Carter participated in a leadership academy focused on developing business knowledge and leadership skills.
While in Atlanta, students also visited several attractions, including the World of Coca-Cola, College Football Hall of Fame, Zoo Atlanta and Georgia Aquarium.
The students expressed appreciation to the community members and supporters who helped make the trip possible. They also recognized DECA advisor Lisa Cunha for her support and dedication to the program and its students.
