'Ghosts of the Gateway' returns Aug. 12
On Aug. 12, investigators and guests will search for “Ghosts of the Gateway”in Wareham’s historical district.
Four different buildings owned by the Wareham Historical Society—the Fearing Tavern (1690), the Old Meetinghouse (1835), the One-Room Schoolhouse (1825) and the Union Chapel (1880) – will be part of the ghost hunt.
Attendees will look for signs of the paranormal just like they’ve seen on television shows like Ghost Hunters, whether it be collecting data like Electronic Voice Phenomenon (in which spirits imprint their voices on digital recordings) or possibly having personal experiences such as being touched by unseen hands.
The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. Tickets are $99 per person, with a portion of all sales going back to the Wareham Historical Society to help preserve these historic haunts. Tickets must be purchased in advance at spookysouthcoast.com, or by making arrangements with Weisberg at tim@spookysouthcoast.com.
