Harvest Triathlon to run, bike and swim
The Harvest Triathlon will return Sunday, June 7, 2026, at A.D. Makepeace Company, with a 7:30 a.m. start time.
The event, held at 158 Tihonet Road, will feature both sprint and Olympic-distance races. The sprint triathlon includes a one-third-mile swim, an 11.5-mile bike ride and a 3.5-mile run. The Olympic triathlon consists of a 0.9-mile swim, a 19.5-mile bike ride and a 6.2-mile run.
Kim Richmond of MaxPerfromance, the New England-based triathlon organization, spoke at the Tuesday, May 5 Select Board meeting to seek approval of road use for the cycling portion of the event and temporary sign placement. Richmond said there have been Wareham-area races since 2009.
Richmond said that the cycling will partially close Farm to Market Road in front of A.D Makepeace.
The course includes a spring-fed lake swim, a rolling bike route and a run through trails across cranberry bogs. Participants will finish at the Stonepath BBQ & Beer Garden, which is included with registration.
The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and organized by certified race directors.
New for 2026, the Harvest Triathlon will serve as a Massachusetts State Championship qualifier. As part of the USA Triathlon system, the top 30% or top five finishers in each age group, whichever is greater, will qualify for national championship events.
