Jean E.(Baker) Forni, 87, formerly of Carver and Wareham died peacefully at home on November 2, 2023. 

Jean was born in Cambridge and was the loving daughter of the late Eugene K. & Alberta (Brown) Baker.  She was raised in Wareham and graduated from Wareham High School in 1954. She worked at the National Bank of Wareham during her high school years.  After 22 years she retired from the Wareham Fire District. She also served as the Treasurer for the South Meadow Village Association from 2017-2022,

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wareham, Past Worthy Matron of Agawam Chapter #121 Order of the Eastern Star, Plymouth County Auditors & Accountant’s Association, District Treasurers Association and the Knit wits of South Meadow Village.

Here hobbies included knitting, crocheting and crafting.

Fond memories include time spent with her family.

Jean was the loving wife of 64 years of Ralph M. Forni who passed away last year.  Devoted mother of Joanne M. Sweeney and her husband Edward of Florida, Kathryn J. King and her husband Gilbert of Wareham, Ralph M. Forni, Jr and his wife Fatima of Westport, Susan E. Gaspar and her husband Charles of Dartmouth and Melissa E. Villanueva and her husband Joe Fernandes of Dartmouth, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by sister Phoebe Sherman of Wareham and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 11:00am to 1:00am at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Highway Wareham, MA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
