Salvation Army giving toys to families

The Salvation Army’s Wareham/Onset office at Onset Foursquare Church, 301 Onset Ave., is currently accepting applications for Christmas toy donations on the following Tuesdays: Nov. 15, Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The office will also be open on Friday, Dec. 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to receive applications. 

Applicants can come to pick up the toys on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Any adult wishing to apply for toys for their children (ages infant to 16) will need to bring the following documentation:

Those receiving welfare, Social Security, SSI or disability must bring an original photo ID for themselves, their original Mass. Health Cards, original birth certificates for all children in their home and an official rent receipt or bill from within the last two months, with the person’s name and current address on it.

Those who are employed or receiving unemployment benefits must bring an original photo ID, two recent pay stubs or unemployment stubs, original Mass. Health Cards, original birth certificates for all children in their home and an official rent receipt or bill from within the last two months, with the person’s name and current address on it.

If more than one family lives in a single household, each family should apply separately. 

Anyone with foster children in their household should bring the child’s passport.
