Wareham Elementary School STEAM program receives planes, jet donation
A classroom at the new Wareham Elementary School is now even better equipped to teach students about engineering after a donation from Hess Toy Truck.
The school posted photos on Facebook last week showing a donation of 24 cargo plane and jet sets to the school’s new STEAM classroom. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Hess donated the sets, STEAM classroom teacher Holly Colombo said, and the company also offers an accompanying curriculum on its website that uses the planes and jets.
“As we just received the donation, we haven’t explored the curriculum just yet but we are eager to learn all about it and incorporate that curriculum into our program,” she said. “We do a lot of science and engineering based projects that apply technology, art, and math.”
