Woman arrested for trafficking fentanyl

A Wareham woman has been arrested for trafficking in Fentanyl, among other drug offenses.

Wareham Police, along with Sandwich Police and Drug Enforcement Administration agents, executed two search warrants: one on the suspect’s car and one on her home.

The woman, Karissa A. Thompson, 29, lives in Apt. 14 at 150 Swifts Beach Road. 

Agents spotted Thompson in her vehicle in a business’s parking lot in West Wareham on Sunday night. They executed a search warrant for her car and found two iPhones and $3,955 in cash. They proceeded to her home where they seized over 160 grams of suspected Fentanyl, five grams of suspected cocaine, two digital scales, a money counting machine, and $207 in cash along with many other smaller items consistent with illegal drug sales.

Thompson has been charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute a class B substance, subsequent offense. She is being held at Wareham Police Headquarters on $50,000 cash bail, pending an arraignment scheduled for Tuesday.
