Friday, Aug. 27, will be the last day of free boxed meal distribution as part of the Gleason Family YMCA’s partnership with the Shah Family Foundation.

Debbie Fringuelli, senior executive director of the Y, said the program guidelines “no longer allow for community distribution.”

“I will continue to work with them to try and find other solutions to get food to our children,” she said.

For months, the program provided free boxed meals at the Y and the Brandy Hill Apartments on Tuesdays and Fridays.
