Robert E. Halle, 82

Robert E. Halle, 82, of Wareham, passed away peacefully on Feb. 23 after a gradual decline in health. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family.

Robert was born in Acushnet and lived in Cambridge before moving to his summer home in Wareham when he retired in 1999. Prior to his retirement, Robert was a master electrician and worked at the Cambridge City Hospital. He served in the Army during the Korean War, was an auxiliary firefighter for the City of Cambridge for many years, and was a member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Rita M. (Ferranti) Halle, was the son of Leo and Ruth (Frawley) Halle and the brother of the late Jeannette Flickinger. His beloved family include two daughters, Ruth Mary Halle, Nancy Halle Mailloux (and her husband Paul Mailloux), brother David Halle (and his wife Diane Halle), grandson David Ranelli II, and great-grandson David Ranelli III. Robert's long-time, cherished brother and sisters-in-law include John and Theresa Ferranti, Marie and Frank Calogero, Eleanor and Russell Saunders, Diana and Richard Drake, Deborah and Joseph Palazzolo, and Angela and Claudin Poyant. He was loved by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 29 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.

Visiting hours are from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.
