Blizzard conditions with a side of buffalo wings
Nearly all Main Street businesses closed on Thursday due to the weather, but it will take more than a blizzard for Minerva Pizzeria to turn off its ovens.
“We are open and ready to rock and roll,” said Manager Jim Kalkanis shortly before dinner orders started rolling in at 5 p.m.
Kalkanis said 10 Minerva drivers were on duty Thursday – all making deliveries in four-wheel drive vehicles.
“They’re all over town,” said Kalkanis, adding customers could expect slower delivery service due to the weather. “We’ve got a great staff and want to make sure they stay safe out there.”
Kalkanis said business wasn’t as brisk as usual due to the weather, but it was steady with delivery calls and even a few pick up orders.
“We’re here to feed the community,” said Kalkanis. “We’ve been open during big storms for 48 years, and we’re not stopping now.”
