ALDI seeks job applicants for new Wareham grocery store

A new Wareham grocery store, discount chain ALDI, will accept applications at a job fair scheduled for Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the TownPlace Suites at 50 Rosebrook Place.

The store is slated to open in the currently under construction Wareham Marketplace, located at the intersection of Tobey Road and Cranberry Highway in West Wareham, according to the site’s developer, J. Donegan Company.

Plans call for a 18,000-square-foot supermarket. The remaining plaza space (27,800 square feet) will be dedicated to retail stores and restaurants.

According to a press release from ALDI, the company is hiring store associates at $12.75 per hour, shift managers at $17.75 per hour and manager trainees at $60,000 per year with an opportunity to make between $90,000 and $100,000 per year as a store manager.

Applicants must be able to lift and stock merchandise up to 45 pounds, multitask and communicate effectively staff, possess excellent customer service skills and have a flexible schedule. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and pass a drug screening and background check.
