Stuff-a-bus collects donations for Turning Point

Dec 5, 2021

While people buzzed around Christmas fairs or awaited the parade on Saturday, Wareham Public Schools bus drivers were on a mission to collect gifts and necessities for those in need this season.

This was the fifth year the drivers held the Stuff-A-Bus fundraiser, which collects items to Turning Point.

Throughout the day, people dropped off enough toys, toiletries, shelf-stable foods and other goods to line both walls of the long yellow school bus, which had been festooned with tinsel for the occasion.

Bus driver Lori Ellis said that the group planned to continue the tradition next year.

Missed this event but want to contribute? The Wareham Police Association will host its annual Stuff A Cruiser event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, outside both Walmart and Target in Wareham.

Community members are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped gifts for donation.
