Want to name the Dog Park’s fire hydrant? Urine luck

May 14, 2023

The Wareham Dog Park’s fire hydrant is feeling the warmth. Every day, the many dogs enjoying the park shower it with love and affection.

All it needs now is a name, and the Dog Park Affiliation of Wareham is holding a contest for local kids to decide what that name will be.

Kids in three age groups — 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16 — can send in name ideas from now until Saturday, June 3.

The Dog Park Affiliation of Wareham, the Wareham Fire Department and the Wareham Department of Natural Resources will choose the winning name from each age group. The winners in each age group will receive gift cards from local businesses, and the “Best in Show” winner will get to name the fire hydrant.

To enter, email sammorrison@comcast.net with the child’s full name, age, address, name of parent or guardian, suggested name for the fire hydrant and the reason why that name was chosen.

Let the creativity flow!
