Today's the day! The twice-postponed retirement party for longtime Select Board member Alan Slavin will be held today, Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the newly constructed Warren's Harborview Restaurant at 59 Main St.

Tickets ($25 each) will be sold at the door. All tickets purchased for previous dates will be honored. In addition to a salute to Slavin, the party will feature gourmet foot, live entertainment and a cash bar.

Slavin served 12 years on the Select Board and chose not to run for re-election this past election cycle. He has also served on other boards, including the now defunct Wareham Marine Resources Committee and the Capital Planning Committee, and now serves as a member of the Finance Committee.

This will be the first public event at Warren's Harborview. Owner Danny Warren is planning a grand opening event for later this fall.
